  • Touching on the Origins of Christmas Traditions

Christmas- touches on how Christmas became a "meld" of traditions that peoples loved and were not ready to give up.

I think its wonderful that people have always strived to have a period of "goodwill to all men", merriment and giving, and considering all.

  • Snails in organic garden

Last summer snails discovered my vege/herb garden.. probably the basil I bought in soil?. They ate all the basil..even the roots it seems!, the curly parsley, and the oregano.. the capsicums and leaves of the capsicum plant , and had a go at the tomatoes.
Then ate the sweet pea seedlings and pea/bean seedlings when a couple of inches high during the year too..soo..
I've just built this snail trap.

I know there are lots after rain in evening and especially in morning, but just squishing them is not working.
Having first seen lots of huge snails and slugs in England when I vested there in 2004.. really big ones.. I figured maybe the English would have figured out how to get rid of them in a organic vegetable/herb garden.

I also came across this copper tape

    and these collars

    The copper tape looks interesting.

I admit my first huge snail I'd seen in my life was crossing a footpath in a shopping centre in England, so I stopped and watched it ..then someone came up behind and told me I didn't have to wait for the snail to cross the footpath :).. and that most people would just step on it:)
I was wondering if this was the type people ate in France, and if anyone did in England too?

I also found this real jet black slug I saw near a waterfall really different.. it was shiny , black and huge

Has anyone any good ideas that works?
