  • Meat Curry

    Recipe from Marg

    MEAT(about one medium chicken), Marg used roast lamb leftovers etc.
    2 large onions
    1 green pepper, (Marg used carrots, beans) .. any preferred vege combo
    2 oz butter
    1 tablespoon curry powder
    2 1/2 cups chicken stock
    4 tablespoons flour
    1 tablespoon brown sugar
    1 dessertspoon lemon juice

    Cut meat into pieces.
    Slice onions, chop veges.
    Saute onions until transparent.
    Add curry powder,flour and sugar.
    Add to stock.
    Season to taste with lemon juice,salt and pepper

    Serve with rice and other veges.

  • Mock Kuchen

    Recipe from Marg

    2 cups SR Flour
    3/4 cup sugar
    mace or nutmeg to taste
    1 teaspoon salt, lemon essence ?? doesn't sound right for salt??

    Heat 2 oz butter, 1 1/4 cups milk. Mix with dry ingredients

    Topping
    3 oz butter
    pinch cinnamon or nutmeg
    3/4 cup sugar
    1/2 cup flour

  • Self Saucing Butterscotch Pudding

    Recipe from Marg

    1 cup SR Flour
    3/4 cup sugar
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 oz butter
    1/2 cup milk

    Method
    Sift flour & sugar & salt in a bowl.
    Melt butter, add milk and add to the flour.
    Place in well greased glass ovenproof dish.
    Heat oven to 400F.

    Sauce
    1 1/2 cups hot water
    1 oz butter
    2 tablespoons syrup

    Place sauce on top of pudding
    and bake 400F(hot oven), top shelf for
    25-30 mins fan-forced or
    40 mins non-fan-forced oven.
